Well, I got the suburban loaded up, our new 22' PJ trailer hitched and our pigglet pen all loaded up. We are going to go down to Wykoff Mn to pick up some red wattle piglets then south to castalia IA to pick up an ac66 pickup head and possibly some screens then back NW to winsted MN to pick up the AC 66 Combine then back home to Cavalier ND. Wish me luck!

Good luck and God keep you safe. I am envious of getting that combine!
Someday I hope I can get one! |

I bought a new trailer once and after hauling it for a year I discovered that a set of U-bolts had never tightened and they only had 3 nuts on them.

Wow, Wykoff is in my general area. A good friend of ours who has a few A-C tractors lives in Wykoff.

![]() Well, picked up the pick-up head then the pigletts then the combine. Matt and his crew loaded it for me. They made it look really easy. It's good to have help from such a friendly experienced group of guys. I have never hauled anything this big minus short hay hauling trips in my uncles really nice hay rig, so I was pretty apprehensive but as it turned out it was a snap, with no issues whatsoever our 2007 suburban handled the combine and trailer just fine in a very strong head wind all the way down and all the way back home, think I averaged 8 mpg, where I figured I would be getting around 12 mpg, (she gets 20 mpg unloaded).

I'm not sure what type it is but it is the type that is all metal, not the one that has the spring teeth mounted in canvas. I'm pretty happy with the combine I won't have time to mess with it for a while espeacially if it freezes tonight and I have to replant. At least now I have and idea what I should bring next time and how to load it, I was really surprised at how well it all worked out, all that anxiety for nothing!

Matt, we got home at 3AM, we averaged 50 mph on the way home and took mostly state hyw's until we hit ND, then we just took I-29 up. as soon as we hit Fargo it was another hurricane of a storm just like what we left in, got to love ND weather. It frosted last night and killed all our buckwheat but everything else seems well. Oh well, we have plenty of time to replant at least.

Glad you made it OK -- those old combines can be a lot of fun as well as practical.
