Can anyone tell me where to locate the s/n on a vintage AC tractor.  I have located the tractor no in the area of the gear shift.  Do not know model or year.

Thx

If you found a number stamped near the gear shift where it says Tractor Number you have found the serial number and it starts with the model . B12345 is a model B, C12345 is a model C, etc.

You can find the year of production here, just be aware the number listed for the early tractors thru 1957 is the last tractor of the year: http://www.allischalmers.com/serials.html

The engine should have a different serial number and will most likely be stamped on the left rear flange where it bolts up to the bell housing.

All,
Thanks for the prompt replies; but, the tractor no I wrote down does not contain a letter only the numbers 3125026.  I will verify.

Wire brush it off good and take another look. B125026 is a 1955 model B.
Post a picture here for us to look at. We like picturesClap
There were 3 models that had a tractor number stamped by the shifter, none had a serial number that goes to 3125026. I'm sure the first stamp is a B.

What model of 'vintage' tractor do you have... that will influence where the numbers will be.

He says he located the Tractor Number by the shifter so it is a B,C or CA and with the number he just posted I believe ha has a 1955 B.

What part of MD are you from? If your in Carroll or Balt. Co i may be able to take a look at it for you.

The universal answer to all questions is yes, how much do you want to spend?

Thanks again.  I will verify tractor no.  BTW, I am originally from Maddox, MD in St. Mary's Co; but, now live in Charles.
