Ive never seen one with a single speed pto. It seems to me single speed was a option or maybe single speed was standard and dual speed was the option

my 7000 series that i have and know of could be changed until you were up the 7080. the person selling the tractor had 1000 to 540 adapter and told me they never had problems with pulling anything.

If im remembering right a 7040 engine would better because they have a oil spray from the main bearings to cool the pistons
