Decades ago I had a H3 crawler loader. I had a lot of problems with the drive train components. I then realized it had dozer chains and not loader chains. The quick solution was to take a torch to cut down the cross bars and then I had no more problems. I guess that at that time Allis putting together whatever parts they had left and put crawler chains on a loader. A loader is always turning and with the added weight of a loader bucket.
