Hi guys-Working on basket-case tractor. I got the engine back together and running yesterday. It idles great!
However the linkage between the carb and governor seems to have something wrong...if you tap the throttle the carb goes to full open and the rpms runaway. What keeps the governor/carb from flipping wide open? The governor lever seems to have no bias one way or other...seems like it should (think some spring should pull it towards idle at all times. Looking at the parts book drawings there appears to be no springs other than one that pulls the governor lever as you increase rpms. Governor was all apart...maybe there is something wrong there? Thanks in advance for the help. Terry

Sounds like you need to remove governor and reassemble it with all the parts. MACK
