Question about the installation of N62 crankshaft thrust washers.
The only reference I can find is from the Allis G SM. It states, "Both thrust washers should be placed on the shaft with the bevel on the inside diameter towards the first crank throw of the shaft." To me, the first throw would the the rod journal. It would seem more logical to reference the front main bearing. Are they calling the main bearing journal the "first throw"? Should the thrust washers be installed with both bevels toward the rear of the engine? Should they symmetrically installed with both bevels toward or away from the main bearing? Kent |

Steve,
That's a clearer explanation than the statement in the book. Thanks, Kent |
