There is an Allis All Crop grain drill listed on the Madison WI Craigslist. It looks good. Just though I would pass it along if anyone is interested. Tom

If'n it would have been closer to me, I'd have snarfed it up. How accurate would the grass seeder attachment have been for seeding alfalfa. .? Anyone ever tried one on alfalfa. .? Thanks, Darrel

It was $500 and it was a steal. If it wasn't a 3 and a half hour drive from me I would have bought it.

It was the same drill as the one I own and looked as good as it.

We use it for our oats every year, we seed alfalfa down at the same time. I have been very happy with the seed placement of the oats. I have found that the alfalfa varies in years as far as how it runs through the machine, some years a bag will cover more acres, but that has to do with the seed and not the drill. I would suggest a Brillion seeder for alfalfa if you had one.

My only complaint of this drill is it does not go through trash as well as our John Deere drill did. If you have some stalks on the surface it will push them to the end of the field. The JD did not. But again, this drill does a better job at seeding the oats than the JD and it looks a lot better!
