What are the adjustment specs for the idler for the traction drive belt on an early K2? It seems too lose when in slow position and too tight in fast position. Any tips for replacing the governor box seal? Thanks

Are both pullies moving? The belt shouldn't be real tight. If he spring one is froze up it will make the belt get a lot tighter.

Yes both are moving. In slow position it slips and in high position it is super tight if you tighten the idler up enough to make it pull in slow position

on my "K" the drive belt would slip if pulled all the way back.....but just bump the lever ahead and it would take off good. just a bump.

It will tighten as speed is increased. I will check the manual and see if it says anything. I always just snugged it up in the slow position and never had any trouble.

Doesn't a K2 have the torque sensing spring can on the lower shieve? It needs greased daily if it does. 1/8 or 3/16 gap(don't remember) when together.With torque sensor belt will appear loose when stopped but tight when running.

Yes it has the torque sensing bottom pulley but it is moving correctly. If I tighten the idler up any in slow position to make it pull the belt is do tight in fast I'm afraid it's going to destroy bearings or break
