I went to Monrovia, IN and pick u a John Deere A high crop for friend in Mo. They also still had few of the tractor from the sale on there lot. Drove thru small amount of snow up in IN on Saturday. Switch trucks in Saint Peters Mo.. John Deere 430 high crop still at there lot. John Deere 430 Cotton picker John Deere cotton picker

While I was at my friend place took at picture of Unstyled Wc with Baler attached. He also had real nice IH TD crawler.

On the WC, is it one of the prototypes with the dodge transmission and rear end? (Wasn’t that another Leubben idea?)

I agree, that WC and baler would be an awesome machine to restore. Heck, I'd like to see something like that at a tractor show as it is. It would be the most unusual thing there for sure. I understand why they aren't common, a tractor you can only use for baling. Someone needs to get it before that tree gets any bigger.

There's one at Hutch. Styled WC though.

The rig was a neat idea, but everyone says they're quite cumbersome and dirty.

Is there any sr markings on tractor indicating its linked to baler. Is there a known amount built or how many left out there. It's only neat because it didn't work good lol

"Only neat because it didn't work good." .... Geez, I've heard a lot of folks say that about the All-Crop 100, too! Lol! As far as your first question, I think Arland Lepper is the guy you need to talk to. I believe the Roto-Baler in the video belongs to him. I remember Gilbert Vust saying these self-propelled balers were made by a small machine shop in Nebraska, independent of Allis-Chalmers. Unfortunately, I don't remember him saying how many were built.
EDIT: I talked to Gary Agrimson today, and he said there were 4 of those self-propelled balers built, and they were unstyled like that one. The one at Hutchinson was an unstyled as well, but the sheet metal, radiator, and gas tank were swapped out, making it a styled machine.

Richard,
Great pictures as always. Some unique green machines and the WC and roto baler are pretty cool. I am still not clear how that baler was attached to the tractor? But if that was the configuration, it no doubt was a dirty job baling hay, with the dust and chaff blowing in your face?

My dad bought a Dodge truck early this year and he wanted to use his truck. Also the Ford needed new tires and that got done yesterday. Another picture of the Baler from the other side.

That would take a LOT of restoring. Just putting it on a trailer and showing it off would be awesome though. That would be a project and I've got too many now.

The WC did not have a hand clutch .Was the original transmission altered on the tractor when the 2 were combined . I need to check that one at Hutch a little better . I think our WC on the farm had a lever that threw it out of gear ? Is that how they stopped to wrap a bale . Then you would have to depress clutch and slip back into gear to start again . Man that would wear a clutch out fast . Now that I think about it My Dad said that the WC clutch had been replaced with a WD45 clutch . I think I have photos of the baler tractor combo at Hutch , I will have to check them out a little closer
