 Topic: engine weight mounting holes

I have a pair of engine weights for my B and I have new mounting bushings. the tractor has never had any weights on it so I thounght someone may have a good way of locating the front mounting holes I need to drill. Any help out there?

As far as I know there shouldn't be any holes to drill.
The rear of the weight will attach with a bolt into the bell housing where a cultivator would attach.
In the front a bolt goes through the plate that the front end attaches to and the weight slips over that bolt. The holes should already be in that plate, unless someone has fabricated a new plate to replace a damaged one and left those holes out.

The early tractors did not have the holes for the engine weights. Someone will need to measure their plates and post the dimensions of the hole location.

2 5/16" down to center and 1 7/8" in to center from farthest outside edge of the plate. 5/8" hole. That's on my 1950, my 1940 doesn't have holes.

On our 39 B I bent a piece of Flat steel into a U shape so it would straddle the front engine plate then welded a pin to those pieces that fit into the hole of the weight, no drilling required. Gone to plow days and bounced that little guy around all day long and they have not fallen off yet.
