I bought Dad's  old Allis G last week end from my brother.  I'm going there this afternoon to see what it will take to get it home.  Where would I find the serial number on it. I know on my B it's in front of the gear shift .
Thanks for any and all help.  I know I'll have many more questions before this project is completed.

Thank God for another day. Thank Him for being alive and all my many blessings.

the serial # is same location on your G as your B.    what did your Dad use the tractor for ?  Are you getting any equipment with the tractor?   good luck and be proud of your family tractor!

He used it for gardening.  He had a Ferguson to30 that my other brother has.  He did most of the heavy tilling with it.  The G was set up to cultivate with.  I'm almost sure thats all that comes with it.  I know it's pre-hydraulics.  I'll have some pics of it later .  Thanks for the quick response.

Mike,  You have obtained a VERY COLLECTABLE Allis Chalmers tractor, and as a BONUS you have kept YOUR FATHER'S TRACTOR!!!
Congratulations!!
With my father we sold the G for the life of the unit.  It was a very dependable extremely adaptable unit.  We used them primarily for cultivating but if you are lucky enough to get it with a plow you will find it to be an outstanding plowing tractor.  In fact, we usually "bet the sale" on the fact that the G would be an excellent plow unit.  The offset Coulter  which was made to offset the side thrust of the plow proved to be an outstanding trash coulter.  We plowed some of the toughest trash area very successfully.
Look forward to pictures.
Good Luck!
Bill Long
