 Topic: D14,D17 pan seat cushion

Anyone know of a company that makes nice cloth cushions for the above pan seats? A long time ago they were offered but all I see is the cheap plastic type that barely has any cushion in them. My neighbor still has one of the originals, really nice with a pull string that holds the edges down around the lip of the seat.

my grandma made them with a canvas cover with padding and drawstrings for all our tractors when i young she also made canvas covers that had some kind of quilted insualtion with a drawstring that was made to fit a gallon clorox jug in for drinking water out in the field grab a frozen jug each day put it in the cover thing

Yeah, I can't find the canvas ones either. Really want one for the WD. Got one for the '45 10 or so years ago at a farm store coming back from Hutch, but it isn't there anymore. Can't remember the town it was in, but believe in Iowa.

My D14s have this cushion that I got from DJS a few years back.
The vinyl is pretty thick and durable and has a draw string to tighten
it around the seat pan.c It does not slide or move around. Much better
than sitting on tin.
Don't know if it would work on a WD/45 though.

First off, that is a really nice original D14! 1959-60 black bar. I have a cushion that looks just like that, vinyl, very thin foam padding. I mind as well sit on the metal pan, actually I do because the plastic makes me sweat. Hopefully yours doesn’t do that and is padded thicker. Really trying to find a cloth/canvas one with thick padding. Thanks for the beautiful picture. I have that same tractor and really enjoy putting it to work.

 This is a worn out example of the cushion I’m searching for. This one is over 50 years old, well worn, but still usable even with the rim ripped away. Will check around to see if I can find someone to make them out of canvas.

My nephew has decided to look at the old one, disassemble it to get a pattern. He is quite gifted at repairing tarps, making seat covers and so forth. I am hopeful he will be able to duplicate it.
