So after 3 yrs finally got son's D-10 series III rebuild complete, first start last week. Seems great except lift arms raise by themselves every time when started. We had no hyd. problems at all before the rebuild , operators manual is 4 hrs. away at his house. Cant' figure out why sitting that long would cause this , any help appreciated, keith ,so va.

Likely the TB linkage is amuck. It's the 2 little levers by your right hip as seated in the OP. I can't exactly tell you which way to position them, you will have to wiggle and test...

Ive helped overcome that problem on at least 4 different tractors in the last couple years. Theres a spool in the hydraulic valve that does not have a hand operated lever attached to it. In front of that spool is a lever on a pivot that is attached to the linkage from traction booster and position control. On 2 tractors that pivot was froze up. On my D17 series 4 the sping on the back or the spool was binding and needed attention. If you cant figure it out ill give you my phone # and ill try to talk you thru it. Ill guve it to you anyway.
