Get your vehicle a good complete wash as soon as possible. Then wash again after you have had a good spring rain and the roads have been washed clean. Spray the underside with fluid film or some other coating to prevent rust. Brine is very hard on vehicles it seems to get in and really stick where it shouldn't be.

As far as how corrosive, a lot depends on what kind of brine they are using. In South Carolina, I'm betting it is salt brine.
Here in New York State and other more northern states, they often go to a calcium chloride (just like we use for ballast in tractor tires), magnesium chloride or sodium chloride brine for extremely cold weather, when salt doesn't work very well. They are VERY corrosive.

Give the brine trucks plenty of space. I have seen videos of dummies tailgating brine trucks in this area in the past few days, that way they can get brine all over their cars not just on the underside. Good advice to wash your vehicle as soon as you can and then after the first good rain.
