I was sandblasting a WD frame rail yesterday, and uncovered the word "bethlehem" on the inside, I've heard of the steel company and knew that they were huge back in the middle of the century, but never gave it a thought that they produced the actual end products.......

That was a VERY BIG NAME here in Maryland before they went out of business.  The steel mill still exists run by companies that bought out Bethlehem.
In fact I had a Cousin who was the Executive Vice President of Bethlehem.  Visited him in his place in Bethlehem, PA.
The frame you refer to could have been made by Bethlehem under contract since it did not take much to make this basic type of part.
Interesting.
Good Luck!

Some of the steel shapes have the steel manufacturer's name embossed on the web when they come off the final rolls.
Bethlehem Steel could have just made the channel shape.
Allis buy the steel channel from Bethlehem or a steel supplier and Allis made the end product for their WD.

I have seen a lot of c-channel and i-beams with the manufacture embossed in the center. They didnt make the parts for Allis, just supplied the beams.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.
