I run accross an Allis track loader that is supposedly an HD 344 G. Didn't know they made such a model, but I could be wrong. Would guess it to be of late 50's vintage, as it has a 4 cylinder Allis Chalmers diesel that resembles a Buda. I have only seen it in pictures, and it is a far piece away to go look at it, but I am sort of interested in pursuing it. Any one have any info on it. Suppose I will shoot myself in the foot and say that it is on Big iron auctions, so if someone needs to look it to give me some more info on it, they can. Thanks, Darrel

HD6G the machine will be with 344 Buda engine Darrel. The engine ID tag may have the number you were given on it. Good loaders.

You are so very right, MACTRACTOR. Looking at the pictures closer, I can see the HD6 emblems up front. That would be a twin to my HD5G, cept it has the allis engine in it instead of the screamin Detroit, right? Thanks, Darrel

The later 1's were heaver than the HD5G's. Later 1's had a little longer track. Later 1's had oil clutch. They are not heavy enough to take out larger trees without a lot of digging. I traded the last 1 I had for a 200Ac. Hurts my bad back too much to run them, but I will miss doing it.

I talked to the owner of this unit this morning. He said he tried to tell the big iron rep that it was an HD 6G, but he wouldn't listen. I want that bad boy!!! Darrel
