If it was sold as farm then orange ,
if sold as industrial then yellow.
they made them in both colors depending on the dealer they were sold through

I usually sand an area on the machine to get down to the original color to see what it was born with or look at an area under the seat where it probably was not sanded very well in past paint jobs you may find the color there. Good Luck!

The HD3 is DAR 81985 Delstar. PPG no longer mixes that particular color , however. there replacement for it is Concept DCC 81657. This is Allis Chalmers construction yellow which was listed in the PPG manual years ago. There were several different shades, the earlier being less bright.  The wheel tractors are Concept (painted later), the crawler Delstar (DAR). Look under the fuel tank and match that color,  if you have an earlier HD3.

I took a part from my HD4 from under the seat to NAPA. I think it was Loraine Yellow , it matched the dozer pzrt perfectly. Napa was able to match it in thier Martin Seynour paint. Really looks good on the parts I painted. HTH Tracy Martin

I did a bit of research on this years ago, was told by AC Industrial Staff that AC had up to 12 different colors of Yellow listed for its equipment.  Confirmed this through NAPA at the time.  Settled on Lorain Yellow for my 615 and H-3.  Good luck there are a number of good ways to achieve color match as noted above.
