Allis Chalmers W-25 power unit

   Does anyone out there have any experience with the w- 25 power unit.  I recently purchased a sawmill that has one as a power unit.  I have numerous questions related to timing and magneto testing.  The motor has compression but has not been run in several years.  Any info would be extremely helpful.

	Chris, sorry I don't know about the W-25 power unit. But interested in the sawmill you bought. I have a Meadows No. 1 delux. Running a 354T perkins diesel (140 HP). 50" circle saw, sawdust drag chain and meadows hydraulic chain log turner. Been running this mill 25 years. It is still a good sawmill.

	When I started looking for a circle mill to replace my bandsaw, I was looking for a unit like yours. After a year went by of no luck, this unit kind of fell into my lap. It's a Belsaw so it isn't what you might call an industrial unit, but it is all self contained on a dual axle trailer, and I can cut cants easily w/ it. Plus the price ($275) played a role. I can afford to work w/ it a little. It has a 42" blade w/ insert teeth, a 10' carriage (although it will cut up to 16'), a sawdust blower, and assorted rolls that are attached to the mill after set up. The carriage was converted to hydraulic drive when the unit was mounted on the trailer frame and is pretty fast. Other than that, I'm still learning the mill. Thanks for your interest Chris

	I had a Belsaw mill for about 3 years before the Meadows. Sounds like you got a good deal. For $275 you can't go wrong. If you have never run a circular mill before, they are a little different than a bandmill. I have seen a lot of the problems that come up from time to time. Hope you don't have any but you will. If something comes up that gives you a problem, let me know. I just may have a suggestion for solving it. Be glad to help if you need it.
