Hi! New to the forum,

I have an Allis Chalmers 1949 B tractor with a Marvel Schebler TSX-154 carburetor. The casting at the fuel inlet is cracked and leaking fuel. Are there different Marvel Schebler carburetors that one could use for doner parts?
Thanks for any information!

Hi Ray! Welcome aboard to the Orange family!  Depending on the size of the crack, you may be able to save your carburetor by grinding the cracked area a little bit and mix up some JB Weld epoxy and fill in the crack. I've fixed numerous carburetors that were cracked in that area for our customer's when they send their carbs in for rebuilding. Done correctly, you shouldn't have a problem with it later on in time in most cases. If the leak persists, you can replace the top part of the carb as long as you stay in the same family of Marvels. Try repairing it first. If it doesn't work, drop me a line. I probably can help you out with another top or I can shoot you some carb #'s that will interchange.  HTH

Thanks! Steve

I use the Allis every time it snows, and it is snowing this weekend. I will try the JB Weld tomorrow.
