I have had an Allis Chalmers 7000 (Red Belly) for about 15 years. Can someone tell me where on the tractor I can locate the serial number and how to tell what year the tractor is. I may be looking past it but have not located it. I have the original operators manual but that information is no longer legible.

On my 7040 it is on the differential casting just to the left and above the pto.

I just went out and checked very closely with a flashlight on the differential area and around the PTO and was not able to locate it. I saw some casting numbers but no serial number. It might be different for the 7000??? I will keep looking. Thanks for your response.
