Allis C steering arm pin worn badly

   I'm restoring a 1944 Allis C tractor. The steering was very sloppy. I removed the ROSS steering gearbox and partially dismantled  on the bench to inspect. The first thing I noticed was the follower pin on the steering arm that goes in between the worm gear was badly worn. Looks like this is the main culprit for  loose steering. Also, No oil was found inside the steering gear box. I found a few youtube videos of gearboxes for B's being rebuilt, however the parts are different on mine even though the B also has a Ross steering box.  The diameter of the steering arm of the B is 1 in. My C is much larger, can't remember the exact size, I believe it was 1 1/8" or 1 1/4" diameter.   I'm looking for a part number for the oil seal, and also the cover gasket. I bought a gasket for the B Ross gearbox, but it does not fit mine. Since my steering arm has a larger diameter shaft, the oil seal mentioned in the youtube video won't work with my gearbox either, and I have had ZERO luck to find a replacement steering arm the same dimensions as mine.  I recently purchased a JD follower pin P/N AM1515T, I am hoping I can get the old follower pin removed and install this one as another youtuber mentioned he did with his.. Has anyone else been through this with a Ross "C" gearbox? Looking for a part number for the oil seal, also cover gasket, and possibly a steering arm if I can't repair mine. I'm probably going to pack the gearbox full of grease instead of oil since these things don't appear to hold oil very well.  Any help greatly appreciated.

	I cant tell you the part number, but ROSS did not make the seal... Seals are like bolts.. you need a 1/4 inch or 5/16 .... Seals are the same thing. GO to NAPA or maybe Motion Industries or Berry Bearing House and show them your seal.. They can give you one that interchanges.. You can also do this yourself if you know the ID and OD of the seal.. I make my own gaskets out of brown construction paper or gasket material depending on how thick you need it... Again, you can buy a small sheet of gasket material at NAPA or other........... Most of my steering gear boxes have grease in them. YES-- the small tapered PIN is replaceable and there are several sizes for different gear boxes... If it will not PUNCH out, you can drill it, then install the new and weld the backside.
	Like them all, but love the "B"s.

	I had my local fab shop make a new following pin for the steering box on my G a couple of years ago. Steers great now!

	Hi all I just took the pin out turn it 90 degrees and put it back in this gives you a bit longer out of your steering box
