 Topic: AC 500 loader replacement pin ends

We have a 500 loader on an XT that is simply worn out. Has been welded on several times and broken almost in half. This morning I found something new. The cast piece that is welded into the bucket end of the frame, the piece that the bucket pins go through has begun to brake and split right up to the top. The pin holes have egg shaped, cracked and about to pull through. Does anyone have a pair of these on a parts loader? They will need to be cut off, ruining the frame. I will try to get a pic in the next couple of days. If not, I will have to make my own pin brackets. This is not the loaders fault, we have put this thing through hell, 10 fold. Thanks Leon B Mo

You could gain the same thing by machining a block down to match the old part and groove it and install a grease zerk.

On my 415 the the grease fittings are in the end of each pin, and a 3/8 bolt goes through the end of the pin so that it pivots on most of the length of the pin. Gary

Machine from solid is the route to go. They can be made to look exactly like the cast if you want. HTH Tracy Martin

Yep, the pins are like Gary's. My pins are OK, the pin boss's that are welded to the end of the frame are junk. I'll make a set if I have to just seeing if there is anything out there. Thanks Leon B MO

Speaking of the pins... Anyone have a source for these? On my AC500 loader, the previous owner replaced 3/4 of them on the bucket end with various mis-sized bolts.  |

If those are the 3/4" by about 3" long pins like I needed for my model 180 loader, I got a couple from Agco a few years ago. They were pricey, though, and not readily available. Seems like around $20 each, but I wanted original. You may be able to find a couple used ones at the Allis tractor shows if you're lucky. Dave

You know, after thinking about it, and looking in the shed, I remembered I bought four of those pins from Matt Scott who posts on this site. They were NOS. So, they are possible to come by. Dave

Sorry for the continued posts, but they are 7/8" diameter. Part number from Agco is 72000045. They were still available in 2013 but being discontinued when they run out. Got a couple from Wells Implement in Plymouth NE 402-656-4435. Dave

Fastenal and other places have clevis pins. If they don't have the exact length, by long, drill a new hole were you want it and cut the extra off.
