I believe in Norm's book it states that the 175 was tested at Nebraska with the 236 and was years later updated to the 248 and never retested.

The 236 was only used for one year, then they went with the 248.

I have a complete motor still in tractor, ran a year and a half ago. It had the front hyd. pump, can't remember if it was a 170 or a 175 tractor, rear end was completely chewed up was the reason it was parked and sheetmetal and rear lift was sold. All is for sale. Randy
