Sorry for the off topic, but I'm wondering if anyone has heard, if White will be offering something along the line of a pro-drive on their planters? Sure would like to get rid of the chains.

Yes. Some models for 2013 will be available with the pro drive and the clutch that goes with them.

John Deere has on their planters, what they call prodrive. It replaces the chain drive on the planter unit, with an enclosed gear set, linked by a flexible shaft. No more oiling chains, nor have cornstalks knocking the chains off.
