Well it came in today, the delivery was pretty well easy but I am almost ashamed I bought the old girl.
It is a donor, not a designated builder as most of the tractor is in ruin. The modifications that had been done to make it something it is not is almost ignorant. The twin top rollers are down to single, they cut away the truck mount for the rear on both sides, looks like a GB currently. They(whoever they were) cut up the twin stick controls then contrived a single joy stick and it looks it. They also removed the stick steer converting to a spring loaded apparatus from the brake pedals, would be fine but you do not have to release the steering clutches to stop. The throttle is welded and rigged from the seat side of the battery box. Rails are Simmel, IE: FIAT and look almost new, track pads on the other hand are crap. THEY had welded a single grouser bar to the old pads to make like a dozer pad, they are 1 1/2" tall and pretty stout but the rest of the shoes are falling literally apart, corners, edge curls just scrap, the shoe bolts however look newer to new when the chains went on. Sprockets are just sort of sharp so they too are crap and with Edwin "Cutting" away the ripper the old machine has little to offer. I am going to snag the trans out of it, pull the finals and the bull gears, remove the shoes and store the rails/bolts. Hood is decent so it will come over as will the battery box lid; OH I almost forgot, the trucks, the right side attaching bolt is gone, a loose pin in its place and the rear pivot ear is cracked so tey are junk, the right idler looks to have been refabbed in a wagon wheel shop, it has a ribbon ring of 1/2" steel for the center, absolute worthless, the left is OE and reasonable. The head is gone with the exhaust and the oil coolers with much of the attaching hardware, engine itself is stuck and with all the pans, oil p/u tube and other odds removed I suspect is done in. It has a pretty cage on it, someone would be well to get it for anything else. Edited by DMiller - 01 Jul 2013 at 8:06pm |

Update, the only photo I took.
The bucket is so thin it will have to have a bottom, both sides and the cutting edge replaced to be of any worth but I may do that for a GP spare. |

Those track rails are worth $2-3000 if they are as good as you said... They are difficult to find......
