Thanks again guys. The tractor sn does indicate that it's a 1941. Chris, I used the paint from tractor supply. I've forgotten the brand. I'll have to look tomorrow.

Finished the rebuild today and test drove the tractor. Drives well and runs well. Temperature indicates about 170-180 based on gauge. Oil pressure is constant and in the "normal" range. Got a leak at the steering box. I couldn't find the seal I needed. Final cost was $9760. I know it was way over the top, but the tractor is properly restored. Took me about 3.5 months. I learned a good bit along the way. I won't powdercoat again.
The little B waiting her turn. A little whimsy. B again. Day 3 just for comparison. |

Ole White Wheels sure looks different than the day DaveKamp dropped her off here! You sure made a difference in the looks and operation of that tractor, no doubt!

Steve,
Congratulations on the completion of your Allis "C". The cost of the restoration surprized me a little but I know that these consume large quantities of funds. ( I know I have at least that much in the two WD's) Your pictures and documentation were excellent! I have enjoyed the journey with you! Glad to see you have another waiting in the wings! looking forward to the next one! Regards, Chris |

Chris,
Thanks. 2K in the engine, 2K in sandblasting and powdercoating, and the rest in new parts. Everything is new or professionally restored. New tires, new radiator, new bearings, seals etc etc. ad infinitum. My little b will be a farm restoration with no painting. Just get her fit for service. I can't stop! Steve |

Steve.
I don't guess you will be needing a B from Texas. I just drug home another 50 B very much like yours. Cost $100 and a couple hours dragging it out of the woods and winching it up on the trailer. With a minimum of tinkering while still on the trailer my son got it running. Sounds sweet with no smoke and great oil pressure . The engine is a 60H power unit. CR sn prefix |

Kenny,
You are amazing. I wish I could find those hundred dollar deals. Mine always cost 500 to 1000. I'd love to get your B, just can't find time to get over to your neck of the woods. I hope things are going well. Steve |

Great job Steve! Tractor looks great. Not hard to get that kinda money tied into these Tractors, but ya did it the right way. Made sure the things that needed to be replaced or repaired got done, and done correctly. The powder coating adds more to the price of the rebuild, but that was your choice, and it looks fantastic. The longevity of the paint should equal the value of the expense. Nice choice of applied color to. I like "different". And I like your C model! Again, great job!

That's a beautiful job! Thanks for posting all the pictures you did, it'll really help me with mine. I think I'll skip powder coating as well.

Sounds nice Chris. I've seen you've done some nice fixes to your new D series. I am currently "restoring" a 1964 International 404 Utility and doing maintenance projects on another CA for use as a beater. The 404 got paint last weekend and turned out pretty good. Now I need to put her back together. My Maggie is still my favorite!
