Blew up the engine in my D15.LOL Sounds like I am going to need a head gasket and maybe a few other parts. Hopefully the rain stays away and we can plant corn and beans first. Tom

Been working on the CA of late. Took it to the electrical shop and got the charging system straightened out. Only working amp gauge I had was old and crappy so I got a new one for it. The big project for the weekend was a new manifold and muffler. Tractor came with a straight-pipe when I bought it. Found a broken ear on the manifold and both mounting bolts for the muffler broken so a new one was in order. While working on this I looked at the temp gauge, shot. Happened to think, seems like I've got a new one around here from a WD project that didn't happen for some reason. Well it looks great, and can tell how warm things are.

It seems like I'm getting a lot of AC related stuff done this year already. At this rate I'm going to be caught up by harvest time, ha-ha.

Found a blown tire on the field cultivator. Got a new tube and tire but first cleaned up the wheel. Needle scaled the inside then sandblasted outside. POR15 the inside. Painted outside. Decided the wheel bearing needed repacked but inspection says replace bearings. May have new bearings today.

Finished bush hoggin' the south pasture edges yesterday and this morning the WD has a flat tire!Angry  I aired it up and it seemed to be holdin' OK, so I started checkin' the cracks that have appeared lately between some of the lugs.  I see a little stick stickin' out of one crack so pulls it out an' the air started whistlin' out.  I had an almost new tire of the same brand and size in the shed, so off came the wheel and rim and took the whole lot to the local tire shop.  I'll pick it up in the morning.

It took about 4 hrs. Hardest part is getting the ubolt on and off right below the rear of the cab. Might be easier just to lift rear of cab 2" and remove whole bracket which I had to take the bolts out of anyway to shift ubolt enough to get the nuts off and on. This also included some weld/repair time on lever and bracket that slides over to get in park

Moneypit; thanks, my biggest question was the elusive U clamp under the cab. Lifting the cab a little would definitely help.

Definitely would be a lot easier without the ubolt. I took the 2 bolts out of the bracket and was able to wiggle it around enough to take one nut off with a socket and extension the other one a did with a couple of wrenches with different bends to them. Good luck

I pulled out the drill planter that's been waiting in the row for 10 years. Hope to plant some corn with it in a few days.

Just amazed me how the only thing froze up was one of the depth cranks. Need to find the marker parts but for now I'll just mark the plot by hand.
Thanks & God Bless

I pulled the rear wheel of one of my G's and patched the tube, cleaned up the rust on the inside of the wheel and painted it.  One step forward, two steps back somedays!
Eldon, you definitely win the tire/wheel changing per year prize!  Wish you were closer, I've got several tire projects to work on.

I haven't done anything to mine yet. But I did pull it out of winter hibernation today.
I was shocked. I had the carb drained and the tank just about empty when I put it away for the winter.
Today I put the battery back in, turned on the gas, climbed on and I was going to pull the choke, but I accidentally pulled the start rod by mistake. It didn't even turn a full revolution and it fired up and idled!
I have new stuff that won't do that, LOL. I LOVE old technology.

Started out to use the rough cut mower to cut part of our acreage.  The D15 has done very little work since being refurbished, and suffers a bit from short runs as it gets moved around the shop.  Thought I would take it out and do some mowing with it, get it up to operating temperature, and just see how it works.
Unfortunately, the rough cut mower had some problems, as the blades have seen too many stones, and were beat up pretty good.  Wound up doing less mowing and more fixing.  Worked OK after I used the press to straighten the blades.

Picked up the SC three bottom 14's.

Was good to have all the adjustments working to move the SC drawbar down to match the level of the tractor hitch.

Loaded I have worn out this set of tires on the car hauler and got new upgraded tires  today.

Lena, my 35 WC has been  in storage for the winter and I have had problems getting it to start with the starter. Always popped right off with the crank but was more miss than hit, trying to start it with the starter. I check the coil out a couple weeks ago and see 2.1 ohms across the primary. Hmm says 6 volt made in china on it.
Today my new Pertronics 40,000 volt 1.5 ohm coil came by way of UPS, so I had to put it on. She popped right off with the starter now. YEHAAAA!
Now to clean up the coon and sparrow $hit and maybe think about finishing the fenders for her.
