Almost finished with the restoration of my D15. Still need to get someone to make a battery box for the fender and find a belt pulley engagement rod. Picked her up in Wisconsin with an older restoration and some minor work with the starter and ring gear to do. Paint was in good shape but needed some fixing in places.

Great looking tractor! You can be very proud of that one!

What are the pros and cons of the 15 diesel? There is one close by (not for sale) Are they problematic? Hard to get parts etc???
Very nice pictures showing your work!

Regards,
 Chris

jollymon68,
Looked at the pictures again. Do you have a extension cord running dirrct to the power station?:)  Wow you are pretty close proximity to that cooling tower! Again great pictures of your D15D!

Gentlemen.... Thanks for the posts. Yes we are really close to Davis Besse power plant, in fact right across the street. The diesels are a bit more complicated to work on and some engine parts can be very hard to find. I have 2 of the series 1 diesels both were built in 1961 serial number 3357D and the other 5083D. The lower serial number I know was purchased new in Fremont Ohio by my grandfather. Again thanks for the posts...

Some diesel parts can be hard, but for the most part they are exactly like the gas models. They had the buda diesels in them. Series 1 had less horsepower than the series 2 same engine though just bigger displacement I believe. The diesels had some problems with cracking the blocks, hence the extension cord for the engine block water heater. Don't use it much cause I live in Georgia. If you can get a diesel I would pick it up they only made about 900+ from 1960-1967.
