I hate to ask for help / Advise again .. But this forum has helped so much .. When I

engadge the clutch on my HD7 it does not go over center ..so you have to hold the clutch lever back all the time .. I havent been under it yet to look at the linkage and stuff .. anyone have any Idea what i should look for .. steers ok also .. Thanks again for all your help ..

The cluch should need adjustement or lubrification and maybe the link actuating

lever andlever actuating are worn and the cluch ass.should be a AUBURN model.

the clutch is a over-center lever type and should snap into position. It may be out of adjustment or it could be dammaged in arm or pin attachment . The center brass bushing could be worn out also.

Clutch sounds like same type that was used in HD5 and that manual will give you directions on setting clutch up.

I have an HD-5 bull dozer that needs a clutch. How hard is it to fix or replace? Where can I get the part?

The friction disc is a easy part as it is the same as many other units , or can be rebuilt by clutch shop. The pressure plate and the rest of clutch assembly is where you have problems. IT IS ALL SPECIAL, so if gemdozer has parts you better see what he has that you need.

I have one extra unit for parts and have robbed most to rebuild one good one now .

figure out what you need first. does it need an adjustment or actual parts. they seem pretty bullet proof to me if you keep them adjusted. not too bad to work on either. check to see if it has a rockford or auburn clutch. according to the manual, clutch lever should have 48-50 pounds of pull to engage it when hooking a scale just below the grip. you will get a feel for it. if it is too loose, clutch will slip excessively. i have some hd5 parts, clutch parts and flywheels if you can't find them, no complete clutches though.
