I purchased a Model D grader Saturday and am looking for (6) 8:25 x 20  road grader tread tires for it. Does anyone have a source?

Try gensco aircraft tires.  I got a set of non-directional military tires with 1/3 tread left, 9.5 X 20, a coupla years ago, for $600 plus shipping. Don't get more than 1/3 tread, on the military tires, mine fit  with about the thickness of a nickel, to spare, between the drive tires...

Also, if you want to get rid of the 3 piece suicide split rims, you can use IH clamp type rims from old school busses and farm trucks, they fit perfect...

In my parts book I didn't see 3 piece rims shown. For 8.25-20 tires they show a flat rim with a snap ring which I think that is what you are referring to. They are safer but should still be inflated in a cage. I used new 8.25-20 truck tires for my grader. They are still produced by off shore suppliers and are relatively inexpensive. The shop where I bought my tires had three different tread types available to choose from but are not true grader tires. They are a little smaller so they give a little more space between the tandems. I wasn't worried that they are cheap off shore tires as the grader is not a race car and I wasn't concerned about how they looked.

I see our township using a gripper style tread on the graders. The tread style is rows of small square lugs. I use this style tread on the drive axles of my highway tractor and grain truck. Looks a little similar to turf tires.

Local truck tire shop will be your best bet. If it has the split rims please take them to the professionals.

The shops around here will dismount split rims but will not remount.    Terry
