If this topic has been cussed and discussed before, pls show me the way.

I have done some searching, but did not find anything that stated "this info is for the 160 engine, then I got confused on a tube/stem that goes up in some filters.  I looked at the two pics of filters that was in the search information.

My filter housing looks just as depicted in the parts book for the D 15.  It just shows the threaded base that the filter screws on.

So can I just wander into NAPA and get the one they list?  Also I read some negative vibes about WICS.

What is the straight skinny if there is one?

thanx

OK,Dave
NAPA 1515, Fram PH8A, Motorcraft FL-1 are pressure flow filters that I know will work.
Good Luck,
Bob

Dave,
Sorry, I did not answer all of your question, this is a truck style filter for D15 II, 160 engine. I use same filter on my F250 as my D15 II.  The filter holder has a stub nipple that filter screws down onto as opposed to the D15 I filter and D14 filter wich has a screw base and packing with hole for steel needle pipe to go into filter.

Thanks Robert and Bob,  you got me squared away, as the ole drill sergeant would have said.  Dave

Make no mistake here. All gas D-15's regardless of series have the Fram PH-8A style filter !!! Only the D-10-12-14's have the old cotton string filter with the stem pipe up inside.

Guess I'm a little old fashioned. I still get the AGCO ones and they always serve me well. Seems like a small price to pay for supplying parts on a 40 year old tractor. Thanks.

I don't disagree EP, that would work also if you had an ADCO dealer within a reasonable distance.  Wink
