I've ordered the books, but they are not here yet. The range selector looks like it should have a latch and latch button. Mine doesn't. lever snaps into high and low. What am I missing?

| There's a rod and spring that goes inside the lever with a button on top and a block and pin on the bottom. The pin engages in the arm (quadrant)mounted on the tractor. I should have all that stuff off my parts tractor if you're interested.... |

Don't know about the D14, but seems possible. I wonder if the control lever is the same length ? I can only find the rod (with button) and the spring. Missing the lower block and pin. Sorry about that. |

The D14 lever is the same length, so parts from it will fit. The one on your D17 was still being used on 175s in 1979!!
