have an off color backhoe jd 310A extend-a-hoe. it's seems to be leaking somewhere inside the extend arm, can't see where it's coming from, can't see where taking it off to check will help either. appears to have a steel pipe nipple just inside by the back of the cyl. when I tipped it upwards a whole lot of oil drained out of the arm! pffft! now when I drive it, the extend arm slowly comes down enough to hit the ground, so far I put a stick in the cab to retract it as I drive, but it needs to get fixed! anyone been around one of these and have seen or heard of this happening? and what it may need and how to fix? thanks....

YEP had it happen to my AC 715 with Digmore Extendahoe , Several possibilities. Could be bad hose , loose fitting , cracked cylinder, bad rod seal on shaft.
Hose would be first thought or loose fitting on hose . Get your tools out and pull cylinder to remove wonder of where leak is . Least you know it's a external leak and not piston leaking, and if it is dropping then on the retract side of piston so rod seal would be guess.
My hoe has a slide in pin that locks hoe in retracted position for travel or storage. I leave it in most times to prevent operators from overusing the extension where it is not needed.
