I have a TS-160 pan. But, for the life of me, I can't figure out how much it weighs. Any help here? (cause google isn't helping)

Are you sure you have the number right?  AC made a 106 pull type, and 260 self propelled, per Norm Swinford's book.  Is yours a pull type, or self propelled?  Picture might help.

i seem to remember the 160 (or 161) was a smaller self elevator scraper. Think it had a cummins 900 inch V8... the larger units were the 260 and 261. ONe was a push loader, the other was a self elevator. Both could be had with rear engines (front and rear).  This was about 1970-80 era.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

It's a TS-160. 7.5 yard I think. It has a supercharged straight-six Detroit diesel (I think) at the front. It's been sitting for about 20 years. I can find almost zero information on it. I want to get it out of my way and I'd like to know how much it weighs so I can get an estimate on how much I'd get for scrap.

I don't know how I missed it in Norm's book, it says it weighs 28,800 lbs.  You might want to try listing that unit for sale here, or on YTmag, there were only 350 made, if its complete, you might get better than scrap price.  Somewhere on here there were pics of someone repainting a motor scraper, within the last year.

It's all there. It was last used 20 years ago to build our 3 acre pond. Was parked at the edge of the field and the woods kinda grew around it.  I can clear a path to get it out easily, I just don't know if I can move it. I doubt our Cat D3 can pull it out.

somebody take that off his hands and fix it up, it would be a neat piece of Allis equipment.

What's your location and phone # if someone is interested?

I'm in the North Carolina foothills. My number is 828-817-4088. Text any time of the day. Call in the evening. If I took it to scrap, I can get $2800. If it's as rare as you say it is, I'd hate to see it destroyed. If I got $2000 from a buyer, I would be happy, but I'll consider any offer.

Because its a complete unit, it would be a crime to scrap. Hopefully someone here will feel sorry for it, and snag it up!

It would be a welcome addition to any AC show that includes construction equipment.

I gave your contact info to a construction equip collecting club in New York state. Hopefully one of their members will be interested and save this piece. I wish I had a place to put it, and the equip needed to haul it!

FORD that really is the coolest piece of equipment I have ever seen with trees growing thru it! Would love to buy it, but my biggest hindrance is that young lady in the family room watching tv while I am talking to you guys!

There are no trees growing through it. Just around it. :D

When the warmer weather gets here, I'm going to cut all the saplings from around it and then I'm going to get the Bobcat 442 and the Cat D3 out and pull this thing out so it's easier to get to.
