Just wondering what a p pump is. Occasionally, in some of the posts, a "p pump" is mentioned. Are they injector pumps off of other brand tractors, are they off of road tractors, are they special built? As I said just wondering?

They are a Bosch pump, pretty large in size, and fuel delivery capability. They were used on 6030, 4840, 4850 etc, then the 7520, 8430,8630 etc. 4wd tractors. 2870/4890/4894 Case with the Scania engine also used a P pump. 8550/4W305 use a P pump, and N7 combines. So you can see, they were used on higher hp tractors/combines. The 94-98 Dodge pickups with a Cummins, use a Bosch P7100 pump. Just an even more robust/beefed up version. They are usually the starting point for a pump build for a higher level pulling pulling tractor, or truck.

Thanks injpumpEd, now I can relate to something the next time I hear about a p pump!
