| What AC models were offered with some type of FWA or MFWD as an option in large numbers? Could you get all of the 5000, 6000, 7000, and 8000 series with this option? Anything else? |

| Wouldn't a 185 or 190 be neat with front wheel assist. I've seen a WC with it though. |

Although the early 8070's were not offered MFWD until A C was confident the components could handle the horsepower. Also there was 100 220 MFWD's made. Dean there were two WC four wheel drive pictures either in old Allis news or Allis connection magazine I don't remember. The one had a truck type front and they put a Ford truck transfer case were the disconnect for rearend is. I heard the splines and shaft are the same size like it was made for it. Then I'am sure they had to get gearing right. The other one had same size fronts as regular rear WC's and I think it was more of a center articulating with two WC rear ends. Maybe I can try and find the pictures but I've got alot of magazines to look through. |

| Too be clear on the 8070 mfwd models. The components they were checking to see if it would take the horsepower was the 8050 mfwd drivetrain. Most 8070 2wd tractors used 7080 gears and go slower than 8070 mfwd's. They evidently didn't think there would be enough demand to make a different front end gearing to use the original 8070 2wd rearend. |
