Good Day-I recently purchased an AC 500 forklift, 4 cyl. gas, 5000 lb capacity.  I dont know if this qualifies as farm or construction. It was originally painted yellow, and it runs on tractor tires in front, so I would classify it as a field lift.  It will be in need of minor work, but I have been all over the machine to find a serial #.  Nothing on frame rails or fenders.  The only number I can find so far is an engine casting #  (16016486-R)The manual I received with it is for a different machine. Any clues where a serial # would be hidden?  Trying to nail down engine as well to be able to order some tuneup parts.  Thanks for any help.  I can send a few pix tomorrow if needed.

From the Engine Serial ( 160  16486 R ) looks like it has a 160 cu.in. gas engine simlar to D-15 Series II.

attached is a picture of an AC 500

Thanks Gary-That picture is the same style lift.   Its really handy   because I do a lot of work off pavement.  Would anyone have time frame those were built?  Possible place to download a parts book or owners manual would also be appreciated.

Serial Number is probably same place as D-15 Farm tractor located where engine is bolted to bell housing on Carburetors side of engine. 1960's machine.

Thanks, Richard, a putty knife and some degreaser proved you right.
