I was going for just one more bucketload with my HD6G when my transmission locked in high speed reverse. It is solidly in gear not caught partly in 2 gears. The transmission locking plunger is moving correctly. I removed the locking plunger sleeve and boot and moved the locking plunger several inches but I could not remove it.

I wiggled the shift lever but it didn't come out of gear. It is not in a good location for me working on it. Sugestions please.

You could removed the 2 bolts from housing shift lever and pull out the lever gear shift  and check inside with a light  if the end shafts notches are in line and if not ,use a long screw driver inline the 3 notches  and reintaled your shifter and try to shift and the master cluch must be in neutral fonction

side bolts into shifting tower . remove full lever and the shift fork ball .
using a long screwdriver or a jack handle tire iron = move all 3 forks into neutral position .
