I had the idea to clean, re-pack the grease on the front wheel bearings on the C.
The rollers fell out (bigger, inner bearing). Isn't that roller cage supposed to retain them? It was a pain to get them back in and stick as I put the hub back on. The cage looks a little tweaked and worn. Maybe time to replace the bearing set? Most likely they are the originals.

How easy is it to change them if required.

Thanks

Time for new bearings. They are worn out.  MACK

I've been there done that but I found the bearings to be quite servicable once reassembled. I think the cage gets "tweaked" by running the bearing too slack.

As Mack said, time for new bearings.  If the "rollers" have fallen out of the "cage", it's shot.  None of that is supposed to come apart.  New bearings  (and new race/cone) are the solution.

I agree.  They can be put back usually, but I choose to just replace and I won't be doing that again for a long time.
