Got all the corn out last weekend, did descent at 120 bu/acre.  Mom and I were brain storming what we could buy to reduce our tax burden and I thought a chisel plow would be a good addition.  I was trying to determine what size I could pull with the 7060 through silty clay soil.  My plan was to go with the chisel points rather than sweeps and I've seen anywhere from 4 HP/ft up to 10 HP/ft.  Does anyone have some insight they could share or know of any for sale near central illinois?  Seems the used chisel plow market isn't big around here.  Thanks, Alan

If you want an allis or duetz chisel plow 7 shank they pull very hard. if you buy a glencoe or a john deere or Kent chisel plow 9 no problem for a 7060 thats figure with disc on front.

I have a 9 shank Allis Min-Til and it' all my 7050 wants and more. I don't have any wheel weights on it but do have duals and I can't quite put it all the way in the ground without spinning.

I pull a 9 shank Glenco with disks on the front with my 7080. In hard ground it works the tractor good. I have 20.8 radials with cast axle duals and 2 sets of the big wheel weights on each side and a full rack of front weights as well. Doesnt lack hp though.

I pull a 15 shank Brilion with my 7060,Run 4th in hard tight clay, 5th in silt loam, with chisel points at 12" deep. Ballast filled tires, wheel weights, 20.8 duals. I ran some the other day to help level some old pasture ground we took in a couple of years ago. I got reminded why we no till now! I bet our fuel bill is cut by 70%! I put almost two tanks of fuel through it in a day. It's nice to get to PLOW and feel the power again.
