I am looking at a Case 580D backhoe that has a miss at low idle only.  Runs fine at high idle.  It is a diesel engine, so I am thinking that the injector pump might need a rebuild.  No sign of excessive smoke from the muffler.
What do you think it needs?  Looks to be a good unit otherwise.

Thanks!

look at injectors first, if it's a Roosa pump it's not real common to lose just one cylinder. Possibly a pump problem, and servicing the pump and injectors would be a smart investment, if you can buy it right.
