I purchased a early C front to put on my B for something different. In doing so I have run across info that the narrow fronts changed over the years but I don't know why, does anyone?
Also why was the steering gear shaft so much bigger on the C models than the B? The steering arm is much beefier on the C plus it came in 3 different sizes/angles from what I can tell. I see so many broken B arms, was the B arm ever made heavier?

I will say that the narrow from turns much tighter!

Mine has the short cranked arm on the front.

I just  completed a narrow(C) front B.  It has the long arm on the front. No steering problems, and no questions or complaints.

I think i remember reading that the earlier Cs had the short steering arm. They made a change during production for some reason

Better geometry to make it easier to steer maybe?

The C's actually had 4 different steering arms, 2 short and 2 long.
