Tanks are the same.  Just the strap for some reason.

Give Ray O'neil a shout at 785-353-2392 in Beattie, KS as he usually has quite a few D-Series parts.

I've bought from him, he's a straight shooter and knows his A-C's.

No not all tanks are the same some have studs on the bottom side some dont I tried using a Series 1  1958 on a Series 3 1963 tractor and it went on but did not fit correctly you could see the difference if they were sitting side by side but it was hard to see if you did not know it i ended up fixing the original

There was occasionally a problem with old tanks cracking on the bottom because there wasn't a strap holding them down. A kit was available to add this strap and usually, when you saw the kit installed, you could tell by paint color that the tank had been replaced too. I believe the strap had a u-clamp attaching it to the steering wheel column tube, where the later factory installed straps were welded.

Mine is a 1958 and has the U clamp as DR says
