Whats the average oil pressure reading on some of your guys WC?
Mine is at R-M (NORMAL) when it starts after sitting for 2-3 days, after it warms up it drops to around the "O" at high idle, at low idle after its warm its at the N or belowe but still within the line on the gauge. Normal or not? Thanks

Sounds pretty good to me. Oil pressure is regulated mailly by the oil filter. Might try a new filter and see if it would help any, but in my opion I would not worry about it.

From what I've experienced, the oil pressure gauge on these is really not a good indicator of vital status... Others should weigh in their two-cents' worth here, but in my opinion, it's akin to judging the health of a bull by the length his tail.

I've kinda taken the position that if the gauge moves, that indicates that there's some oil pressure. If it doesn't, then I listen for valve and governor noise... or pull the valve cover and see if there's oil flow at the top.

I think a more accurate and reliable indicator of oil pressure (and I think others may share the same opinion) is the dispstick... and here's how it works:

If there's no oil on the dipstick, you have no oil pressure.

If there's oil on the dipstick, there's a chance that oil pressure may exist.

If the gauge moves, there's a pretty good chance it happened because of oil pressure...

I noticed last time that the pressure reads on the edge of 'N' on ours, and has dropped since 6 years ago. I am little concerned.

Actually, that's better than most. These are low pressure engines. If you're getting oil at the top, it's fine. Carl
