Father's first tractor he purchased in 1942 a new "B" on steel with a row crop front end. Has anyone ever seen a "B" row crop on steel. Tractor was before I was born and I can not find any pictures of this tractor. The front axle would break very easily so in 1945 father traded the "B" for a new "WF" on rubber with an Allcrop 60 with bagger attachment. Father thought he was in heaven - no more threshings to go to.

As far as I know and from what I've heard it was never an option. Could it have been a C that he started with and traded for a B?

By B row crop front end, are you referring to the '42 B wide front with adjustable front axle?

No - the front wheels were together- row crop or narrow front end. I saw a "B" row crop on rubber at the GOTO in UNION GROVE 2005 and the owner said that was the way this tractor came from the plant. Is it possible that during the war days if the plant ran out of parts they used what ever parts were avaiable to put a tractor together.
