Hey guys I bought this sickle mower at an auction yesterday and was wondering if anyone had any information on it. I believe it may be an oliver mower but i see no tags that indicate it is. also there is not a tongue to hook to the drawbar of your tractor. does it just mount to the drawbar then?? please help and any information would be very appreciated. Model? when it was made? thanks blake

I am not sure of the model or make but as for mounting the plate in front with all the holes sets on top of drawbar support and you bolt it solid to the drawbar support. I believe the reason for all the holes was to give adjustments for with of tires and to allow for being able to be offset from center of tractor and to allow for operation on different brands of tractors say a John Deere or farmall or Allis Chalmers for example
It looked like a JD #5 at first but I've never seen or heard of one with 2 tail wheels so it could be a Oliver with it being green and such. It looks like the mounting plate has a slight convex curve toward the tractor with if memory serves correctly that the Oliver's had a drawbar support shaped like that.

Sorry scratch the whole bit about a curve on the mounting plate. I took a closer look at the picture and i guess my eyes played a trick on me or something

thanks guys for the helpful advice. My next question is what would it be worth? the pitman arms needs some work and it needs new sickles in the bar. I don't know whether i want to hang onto it or not but i got it for the right price and jumped on it.
