Local Ferguson dealer is having consignment auction tomorrow, there is a 7010 PD that appears to be pretty sharp, cab is good has 20.8 rears at 70%, dealer said it was a good tractor except the a/c needs work, hour meter was on 490 hours so assume it dont work, my question is the engine appears to be out of a combine or something, the engine plate said 2900, what do you think this is out of, it looked to be put in right not cobbled up but it doesn't look like the motor in our 8010, may go look it over tomorrow and bring it home if it isn't too high, what do you all think it will bring? thanks

early 7010 would have a 2900. Was shortly after they went to the metric designation, 649T. 6 cyl, 4.9 liters, turbocharged. An 8010 will have the 649t designation, and unless a very early one, it will have the AMBAC model 100 fuel injection pump. Better buy it!
