Folks, this will be short and bitter, as on August, old Boogerowen was consumed by wildfire, along with about 400 other families in Creek County Okla, I lost all 6 of my tractors as well as everything I owned. The only things I was able to save was my guns that were in a safe designed to withstand 2500 degree's for 4 hours and my little travel trailer, and my older hunting pick-up truck. GOD BLESS AMERICA

Sorry to hear that Gordon. It might be kinda hard to think this way right now, but you can feel lucky you didn't get caught in it. It's gotta be tough though to get back to life when so much history is lost.

I am so sorry to hear that. Man that is a tough one. I hope and pray you had good insurance? Even though there is so much like photos and keep sakes that will never be replaced. Your message reminds us all of how fast things can be taken away and this life has dissapointments from time to time. Prayers for you and the 400 families. Mike in Iowa

Terrible, but happy you didn't get harmed. I have packed up for fire alerts in the past. I was expecting this thread to be about someone tired of the desk job and was wanting to restore tractors instead.

It has been a very tragic time in our area. We are about 40 miles from the damage. We sent a few firefighters to the fire, but had to keep someone in town. We were under such sever conditions that all it would take is a spark and we would be just as bad off. Everyone has pulled every resource they have to try and alleviate the impact. So far statewide a count of over 600 homes lost. 1 fatality. Oh, and not to get political, but marinas and rv parks are opening up and people are volunteering thier personal motorhomes, and campers to fthe victims to live in while figuring out the next step. Just like much of the rest of the county, we take care of our own and don't wait on FEMA. It just doesn't make the news. So far the investigation of the Manford fire is that it was started on Tribal land by either somone burning brush, or throwing cigarettes. Other fires in the state were set intentionally. JimD

Gordon, some times we just have to swallow our pride and say "thanks, I do need a hand". That is why WE ALL are FAMILY. We can make tomorrow a little brighter. I know what its like to be destitute and wanting to do it yourself, but then what did God put us on the earth together for. If I am out of line, I apologize. Just wanting to help others when I can. Had a thought and discussed it with vice-president of global operations (my wife) and we agree. If you donate either to Gordon directly, or to the Baptist relief fund, let us know by email or PM your address and we will send one of the Allis Dealer DVDs. Nothing fancy, DVD in a paper sleeve and mailer, but we will cover cost of shipping. Donate what you feel is right and let us know and I will get the DVD headed your way. JimD

So sorry to hear of your loss. While you folks are out there are in a drought, we have all the T-storms tossing rain, wind, hail, and everything else Mother Nature can throw at us. It's still no comparison to loosing eveything you own to fire. The main thing is you and your family are safe! JoAnna and I are happy to make a donation to help you out. Thank you Jim posting Gordon's address. We'll send him a donation direct....

Can donations still be sent to this address? I know how fast things can change. u just can't wait till ya get back into your own house. when we lost our place. once the new was up, we slept on the floor. lol. I watched on the news and felt sorry for those who lost all in a fire, but never thought much of it. until our place went up. there was people that I didn't know or have had disagreement with, that came to help us out. now any time I hear of a fire, I send anything I can. like somebody stated 5-10-20 $ sure helps when ya got nothing. there is just nothing like the feeling ya get, when you wake up the next morning in the same cloths, relizing that's all ya have. I'm really sorry for your loss and hope all ends up well. dt
