I'm getting ready to put new vinyl decals on my D15II. I've never worked with them before. What is the best method for getting them placed and stuck on properly?

first get squirt bottle like windex rinse rinse rinse needs to spray really good fine mist and be very clean preferably a brand new bottle with nothing ever used in it put some water in it then 2 cap fulls of 90% isopropal like from wallgreens and 2 drops of dish soap fill bottle 3/4 full shake well also get a plastic squeegee like auto body guys use to spread bondo around with no sharp corners nice smooth edge brand new no dings in spreading edge next never ever touch vinyl sticky side with your finger before wetting it wet finger and vinyl as you pull the backing wet wet wet make sure the surface the sticker is going on is clean clean clean no waxes nothing on paint clean with your sticker stuff mixter if unsure then apply sticker stuff on surface. vinyl is to be attached wetter the better and on sticky side of vinyl wet wet wet if you haven't already make sure you measure and put slight pencil marks were you want the vinyl exactly so it ends up were you want it straight and pretty. hope that isn't to confusing so far prep is 90% of putting vinyl on lay the vinyl on gently don't press down yet you can slide it around to get it positioned with the sticker stuff mixture between the sticker and the base. Wet the outside of the vinyl if there is no outer paper covering the vinyl use the marks you made and line it up always start with the squeegee near the marks toward the middle squeegee the water out with the squeegee tipped toward the sticker at about a 45 degree angle and gently pull it away from the center toward the edges be gentle with the edges don't apply to much pressure or it might distort them if pulled to hard never pull from the edge inward always from the middle outward in all directions and work the air and water bubbles out from under the vinyl let it dry for a day or so after applying never wrinkle the vinyl and try to squeegee it out it will tear it also if there are any small bubbles after word witch there shouldn't be but if there is take a very small needle and poke a hole in the middle and work it all out toward the small pin hole also if the vinyl has a outside paper like some does on the front side or outside soak it down really wet with your sticker stuff and let set a few minutes then pull off gently if it is fighting you wet some more and give it a little more time. hope that helps ive done many miles of vinyl this way. it also helps to have 2 people that way you dont get short handed. trying to hold the vinyl and the sticker stuff.
