Hi,

I am looking at a D14.  It doesn't want to go into or stay in 3rd gear.

Is this fixable?  Does something need to built up or some parts replaced?   Want expense will trying to fix this cause?

Thanks
Terry

Once the tran's shifter cover is pulled ,you can see more of what you might need .Expaese is alway's a guess until you know more . Anything can be fixed .

Everything is "fixable" with a thick wallet, others will chime in with some of the shortcuts -- the bigest culpret is the teeth on the shift collers also the fork could be bent or worn the shift collers mesh with teeth on the gears that are also probably worn. There is a saying out there that you figure $1000 for every gear it jumps out of. I know a fellow that bought one that jumped 2nd gear, he bought a chinese gear for about $200 and it worked great for two months and then was jumping out again but who knows if it the gear or if he needed to change other pieces while he was in there.
